Disclaimer; I own nada.

Note; this was inspired by this gorgeous song: youtube [dot] com/watch?v=qi1nz-AM49A. So I hope the story echoes that to some extent.

...

It was like a soft, dark melody. A constant hum. It made her heart beat it's own odd tune. A tune only he could hear; that played only for him. It was something she couldn't shake, and it became something she, in the darkest part of her, didn't want to shake.

Because she could feel his own vibe, his own beautiful tune, singing back to her. Echoing off her hearts' thumps, entwining and melding with her song. So beautiful, so perfectly in tune with hers in such an odd and magnificent way.

But it wasn't without it's echoes, and though faint, others could very well make them out if they strained hard enough, for long enough.

It was a betrayal, no matter how you looked upon it. She found, though, that they didn't want it to stop, because it wasn't just her lullaby and it wasn't just his lullaby.

It was their lullaby, their song, their duet.

And they made such a beautiful, heavenly duet.

A lovely, insurmountable, unshakable, unfaithful, duet.

And that, like a fine, deep break in glistening ice, was beginning to so very slowly float to the surface, morphing in a black fissure against the pure white.
