'Koi' means many different things.
To Kakei Juubei, it meant the graceful orange fish swimming around in a large pond in the Fuuchouin household. The memory was preserved perfectly in his head: Kazuki kneeled over the side of the pool; his hand dipped in the water, as the large, ethereal fish swarmed around it. His laughter and happiness that day were the truest he had ever seen.
To Amano Ginji, it meant request. Something he had so often received while in Mugenjou, and continued receiving with his partner in Shinjuku. He didn't mind, really. He loved helping people, and watching them smile when they got what they loved. He was finally free, after all.
To Akabane Kuroudo, it meant intention. The sense of purpose he set out to live life with. The only thing he ever allowed anyone to see- the goal. The pleasure derived not just from blood lust, but also from the challenge of a good fight.
To Kudou Himiko, it meant ways of the ancient. For not only did she live her life under a curse, but had also lost her only family to it. It hung over her everyday, this archaic bane, as she went on with her routine, forever under a mask.
To Fuyuki Shido, it meant strong, like the power of the beasts at his call, and the rush of taking on their abilities. Strength with which he protected his friends, his beloved, and his honor. It was a way of life for him. After all, no one could have lived a life like his without that.
To Midou Ban and Fuuchouin Kazuki, 'koi' meant love. It meant tenderness and passion. The side they revealed only to each other in solitude. It meant every caress, every touch and every look. It meant the words left unspoken, but understood. It meant nights spent apart, with memories to carry them through the absence. The way everything else seemed to fade out in each other's presence.
You see, 'koi' means many different things. Love may only be one of them, but it made 'koi' mean the world.

Sappy? Yes. Pointless? Most definitely. But my friend Nate searched 'koi' on freedict, and came up with all these results, and I just had to write about it. Flames are welcome.
