Lily held Harry close as she began to rock him to sleep.

wishing on a dream that seems far off
hoping it will come today
into the starlit night
foolish dreamers turn their gaze
waiting on a shooting star

She gazed out the window. Stars lined the night sky, and the moon was a huge circle overhead. Harry squirmed slightly and she wrapped the blanket closer around him. Snow fell silently outside, marking the night as Christmas Eve.

but what if that star is not to come
will their dreams fade to nothing?
when the horizon darkens most
we all need to beleive there is hope

She smiled as she heard James' footsteps outside the room. He came in and placed his arms around her. She wished the moment would never end.

Lily watched the soft rise and fall of Harry's chest as he slept. He wasn't even a year old...
