Yuri envied Kasumi. True, she held Kasumi as a friend, but when it came down to competition, Kasumi was faster, stronger, and smarter. In situations where Yuri would hesitate or fumble, Kasumi skated through the situation with grace, poise, and efficiency.
Above all, though, Kasumi loved what she did. She loved aliens and capturing them and, of course, her Borg partner. Yuri thought about the latter as she stood before the mirror with her own 'Borg perched on her head. What was Kasumi's secret? What made her more comfortable with her partner than Yuri was with hers?
"Burberry's Weekend," Yuri murmured.
Borg looked downward.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing," Yuri said.
Yuri reached towards the dresser next to the mirror and plucked a glass bottle from its top. Her dark eyes stared at the purple liquid within the transparent container. She didn't own a bottle of Kasumi's favored perfume, and she hoped it wouldn't take away from the moment.
"If I spray this on Borg," Yuri mumbled, "we'd be like Kasumi and her Borg."
Again, Borg looked downward.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing," she replied.
Then, she pointed the bottle's nozzle towards Borg and pressed it. Lilac-scented droplets flew through the air and coated her symbiotic partner's smooth skin. He winced for a moment before blinking his large eyes several times.
A silence followed. Yuri lowered her arm as she stared into the mirror. She didn't feel any differences. In fact, the discomfort of wearing Borg lingered.
"It stinks, Yuri," Borg said.
Yuri sighed. It was worth a try.
