I ran through Sunnyshore's market. I could hear the high-pitched cries of the Wingull coming from the beach. It was as though all the Pokémon around my hometown could sense my excitement.
Today was a very special day for me. My parents decided that living in Sunnyshore City was dangerous. It was full of wild Pokémon on really high levels. They promised me that they would take me to Twinleaf Town and get me my very first Pokémon. I declined their offer at first. It was clearly a joke. No way would be parents be bothered to take time off work and go on an adventure with me and my Pokémon. My mother made it very clear then that it wasn't an option, it was compulsory. She also told me that she wasn't going with me and neither was my father. They were letting me go alone.
My parents knew that it was my dream to someday become a trainer. They promised me on my 10th birthday that I would get my first Pokémon. Unfortunately, this did not happen. I spent my 10th birthday watching my older sister get her first Pokémon and leave home. Claudia, my sister, got a Starly. She was sent over to Twinleaf Town to start her journey with Pokémon. When she came home she was a different person. Her Pokémon were her life. I meant nothing to her anymore. In her three years of travelling across Sinnoh, she had managed to catch an Aggron; a Pichu; a Remora; a Roserade; and a Honchkrow. They were her favourite Pokémon. I haven't talked to my sister since she left again to travel to other places across the world. Things will never be the same between us.
My mother met me at the door of our house. Without words she helped me carry all my stuff outside.
The plan was that I would take a boat straight to Twinleaf Town and then travel from there until I reached the Pokémon League.
I walked to the boat and hugged my mother.
"Be safe."
She placed a Pokéball in my hand.
"Don't open it until you get there."
I boarded the boat and watched my mother shrink as I disappeared further across the ocean.
So what do you guys think? I know it's not much but I'm working on it. Please review.
Thanks, Fattiboombah xo
