A/N: This is my Drabble submission for round 6 of the houses competition Year 2! enjoy!

Year: 2

House: Ravenclaw

Category: Drabble

Prompt: Professor Firenze

Word Count: 358

Dear Sybill,

I am writing you this because any other attempt to get in contact with you has been fruitless. Whilst you may be displeased with teaching alongside me this year, I find your childish means to avoid me frankly tiring. Thus, I have resorted to sending you a letter, knowing full well you will probably rip it up. But at least I am trying to maintain a standard of professionality, unlike yourself.

I know we differ in many ways; from opinions, to teachings, to even anatomy. I understand that you have gone through hardships yourself this academic year after being unceremoniously, with want for a better phrase, thrown out of Hogwarts by Professor Umbridge. But I too have endured a lot, just to teach here I have been exiled from my colony. As someone who has also experienced being thrown out of their home, you can understand why I'm so eager to remain in a place I am accepted.

You may argue I brought that upon myself, but Centaurs prioritise the correct upbringing of children above most other matters and it was only right that the younglings attending this school have access to the best teachings in your unfortunate absence. For the most part, here. I also face discrimination from Professor Umbridge who views me as little more than an animal and some students, and while I expected a little of that, I was disappointed to hear you too thought of me in such a manner referring to me as "a horse" and "Usurping nag".

Whilst these insults may seem minor to you, they mean a lot to me. I am more than just an animal, I enjoy teaching and I am trying to demonstrate to my colony and the Centaur race that Centaurs and Humans can coexist quite happily together and this behaviour is not only unprofessional but damaging to my cause. Please understand, I meant no offence by accepting to continue my contract here, I simply have nowhere else to go.

I hope you can get past your bigotries and be prepared to meet me so we can discuss this matter further.

Regards,

Professor Firenze
