She had vanished from the world as quick as she'd arrived. Now Ichigo was forgetting her.
No! You can't forget her, you fool!
The cry was not from Ichigo as all that remained of the girl was the red ribbon that had held up her purple ponytail. Ichigo was already beginning to forget her. No, the cry came from with in his inner realm of sky scrapers.
"She gave up everything for you!"
The Hollow part of him was crying this out as he punched one of the walls. Zangetsu stood on a horizontal flag pole extending from the building. Hollow Ichigo-Hichigo-sat on the ledge slowly, still shaking with rage.
"How can the Fool King of this realm forget her while we're forced to remember every moment he shared with her?" He hissed.
"We live in his subconscious mind." Zangetsu stated. "The memories will linger here, even though he cannot actively remember it. Dreams. Visions."
"But he won't remember who she was!" Hichigo exclaimed. "What she sacrificed for him, this world, for everything!"
"No. He won't." Zangetsu exhaled. "It will be like this who series of events was nothing but a dream, if he remembers that. At most he'll recall her face."
"But not her. Not the girl she was. All the different..."
"If I didn't know you better I'd say you were about to cry."
"...Watch it, old man." Hichigo hissed.
"You admire her, I think. Her very existence impresses you."
"She did form from multiple remains of past lives." Hichigo stated. "She simply willed to be. Memories that Souls forget. She'd been a girl whose father hit her and screamed at her for some reason. In another breath she'd died young. Yet another part of her used a Zanpakuto called Mirokumaru that created wind storms. Even when she found out she was nothing but the Shinenju, a rosary of memories, she wouldn't give up on her existence. She had a right to exist. But she gave it all up...not for this world..."
"But for him." Zangetsu finished.
"A foolish boy who will forget her by the time he wakes up tomorrow." Hichigo hissed.
"Why are you taking this so personally?"
"Because if the Shinigami, the Death Gods can decide she doesn't have the right to existence, like they did, and refuse to help her until there is no other option, where does it stop?" Hichigo hissed. "With me? WIth you? With out fool of a king?"
"That's why we need him." Zangetsu replied. "After he learns more...he will shake the very foundation of the Soul Society."
"How many people have to die before then?" Hichigo whispered.
"What's your solution?" Zangetsu asked. "You'd kill people if you were loose."
"Depends on the person." Hichigo stood up. "I need to go..." Without a word of warning he stepped from the ledge and began to fall through space. He wouldn't perish, ever, he could stop falling anytime. But it was something he did now and then.
Senna.
