Lindsay woke up gasping after the terror of a nightmare she just had. She was alone, and unsafe. Someone had brutally murdered everyone including her perfect boyfriend. She remembered them slowly killing him. It broke her heard to even dream of it. It was her against this cruel world filled with cruel people. Trembling, she opened her eyes and looked at her surroundings. Thankfully, she was in her room, next to the love of her life. The stunning, even in his sleep, Danny Messer.
"Danny", she whispered.
"Mmmmm?"
"Danny, I'm scared."
"What? Baby what's wrong?" Danny was now full of concern because he would never let anything bad happen to Lindsay.
"I had a nightmare."
Danny sat up and pulled her into his arms. He could feel her trembling. It broke his heart to see someone so amazing get so upset.
"Babe, it's okay. I'm here." He lightly kissed her forehead and he could feel her smile against her chest.
"What would I ever do without you?" She snuggled herself against his warm, comforting body.
"Well…"
"Danny? Please don't go into detail. I just want you to hold me and make me feel safe. "
"Lindsay, I would risk my life to hold you and make you feel safe."
"I love you"
"I love you too. Just so you know, I have no idea what I would do without you either."
She smiled at him. Her smile made his heart melt and with that, they shared a long and passionate kiss. Lindsay knew she was the one for him, and she was his, his love, his person to protect, his Montana. She fell asleep in Danny's arms. He sighed and with one last kiss to her forehead, he was sound asleep too.
She dreamed, but none of them were bad. They were filled with joy. The same joy she felt when she was with Danny. The same joy when she saw him, heard him laugh or say her name. It even filled her with joy when he called her that stupid nickname "Montana".
Danny was the only one who could make her feel better after that dream. He was the only one who made her feel safe.
She woke up that morning and she was still in his arms. Happy and content with the most PERFECT man in the world, and the love of her life.
