Bewildered

OMG my second Host fic! And here I thought that Reflected was gonna be my only one. Just an idea I thought would be humorous. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I'll tell you if I ever own it.

I happily strolled through the caves, not able to think of a single thing that could bring me down.

That may have had a little something to do with who my arm was wrapped around. Wanda was so short that I nearly had to lean down to put my arm around her shoulders.

I looked down at her, only to see her looking back up at me. She had a little half-smile on her face.

"What are you so happy about?" I asked her, wanting to know more than anything.

"Well, that depends," she replied. "I'm happy because you're practically floating on air. So, the real question is, what are you so happy about? I haven't seen you like this in weeks."

"Well," I was practically skipping down the hallway in my cheerfulness, "we learned that there are three more human outposts this month, I beat Andy and Aaron at two-on-one, and you're here."

Wanda's face lit in that intense blush I could never get enough of. "Oh, stop it."

"I won't stop it. I just…" I paused to find words. "I'm so lucky that you're here. I'm lucky that you're here with me. It's a good thing you weren't killed that first day." A huge understatement. I whistled, shaking my head.

Wanda shrugged off my arm and grabbed my hand, swinging them back and forth as we walked. "Yeah, I guess. Jared was very angry. I'm still surprised he didn't kill me, in his distraught state."

She was jerked back a bit, as I had stopped walking but she'd continued. I stood in deep thought for a moment or two, and then I started jogging down the corridor, letting go of Wanda's hand.

"Ian? Where are you going?" she called.

"I'll be right back!" I responded, already halfway down the hall.

Jared Howe was left rather bemused after Ian O'Shea had come barreling down the hall, given him a bone-breaking hug, yelled, "Thank you thank you thank you!" and walked away nonchalantly.

I imagine Jared just kind of stood there blinking afterwards. Reviews are nice, though I'm not going to push you.
