Author Note: I didn't really like how Tracy found out at the end, so instead of killing Tracy at the end after having her know whom Nick really is. I'm writing it a little different.

Last

Nick hurries over to Tracy trying to help her knowing that she had seen him as a vampire. He knew that she would be a little mad at him and hopefully he could make it up to her.

"TRACY...TRACY..." He says to her trying to stay conscious. "We need some help here." He shouts hoping someone would hear him.

"You could have trusted me." Says Tracy looking at Nick.

"I know and I'm sorry, Tracy." He says as her eyes close. He hears noises as more policemen find them and he tells them to go get help as he stays by her. He watches as the paramedics carefully lift her up to the gurney and wheel her out. He stands there numb wondering how he could have stopped her from getting shot. He should have sensed that someone else was there, but he was so focused on Dawkins he didn't know.

He stands at her bedside wanting to bring her across, but Natalie stops him from doing so. She's right is this what she wants to be a vampire like he is? Like Vachon was? And like Lacroix is? She lies there peacefully, but can hear what Natalie and Nick are saying. Natalie knows what Nick is? How can that be? She promises herself when she gets better that she will ask him.

Weeks Later

Tracy Vetter walks into the elevator that will take her to Nick's apartment. She wonders if he will tell her the truth. Opening the door she walks into the apartment and looks around. The shades are open and the moonlight is spilling inside. Nick stands there looking at her appearance. She looked better than the last time he had seen her.

"I have to talk to you." Tracy says, as she looks right at Nick.

He knew that this day would come if and when she would get better. "I know." He says as he looks back at her. "Please sit down." He motions to the couch.

She sits down looking at the fireplace and then back to Nick as he also sits down. "I know that you are a vampire like Vachon."

"Yes, I am."

"When Vachon tried to hypnotize you. Does that work on other vampires?"

"No." "So you remembered who Vachon was when I asked you after and you lied to me?"

"I had to. If I didn't you would of either known that I couldn't be hypnotized like you, or I was a vampire."

"Why didn't you trust me? How come you trusted Natalie?" She looked into his eyes. "I heard your conversation at my bedside." She added.

"Natalie found out two years ago. I came into the morgue after I had tried to stop a robbery, but someone threw in a pipe bomb and it went off. I quickly healed, woke up and drank blood. I tried to hypnotize her, but it didn't work. She's helping me to try to become mortal."

"You want to become mortal?"

"Yes. I want to make up for what I did." He says as he looks into the fireplace watching the past go by.

"Did you ever talk to Vachon after he tried to hypnotize you?"

"Yes, I called him to keep an eye on you when I had to leave. I also helped him with the cure that had killed Screed."

"You knew about that?"

"Yes, because I was affected too."

"What about Jeanette? I remember you helping her." "She was a vampire too, but somehow she became mortal." He said not telling her that he had made her a vampire again.

"Thank you, Nick for telling me the truth."

"You're Welcome."

"We better get to the Precinct" She said as she stood up from the couch.

"You go ahead. I'll be there later." Nick said as he watched her open the door to his loft. "Okay." She looked at him as she closed the door and left.
