For Hinata: Want

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful, king hearted girl living in a family that hated her. Her father disowned her, her sister looked down on her, and her cousin hated her. She was shy and stuttered when she talked. She admired (and still does) the village outcast and she tries her best. This girl's name is Hyuuga Hinata.

Hinata is reaching her 21st birthday. It is on her birthday that everything she wished, hoped and worked for will come true.

She will become head of her clan, the Hyuuga. Hinata will hear a speech in honor of her from the new Hokage, the same outcast she admires, Uzumaki Naruto. She will be respected and looked up to, acknowledged by her family and comrades.

But she wonders why she is still unhappy.

Hinata is sitting in one of the many Hyuuga gardens around the compound. It is the eve of her 21st birthday. She thinks back at her life, wondering if this, becoming Head, is what she truly wants to do.

How many nights Hinata wished she was stronger, better than she thought she was? How many nights did she stay out training until her body could not move? How many tears had she shed? She wants this, right?

She remembers clearly the look on her father's face when she beat Hanabi, her little sister. He called her his daughter. Hinata would have cried if she was trying not to look weak. She remembers the day Neji patted her on the head and smiled at her when she passed the Jounin exams. She also remembers when the Council of the Hyuuga deemed her worthy as heir again.

She remembers the day Naruto told her that he had 'complete respect for such an awesome kunoichi.' Hinata remembers, also, when that very same man broke her heart, when he married Sakura. But she could not hate either of them. She was happy for them, even though she was jealous deep inside. She realized then that she, Hyuuga Hinata, is human and she felt lonely.

"Onee-sama!"

"Hinata-sama!"

"Hina-chan, where'd you run off to?"

"Hinata please tell me you didn't fall asleep in the garden again?"

Four voices of the people that were most important to her—Hanabi, Neji, Naruto, and her father—and Hinata smiled, she was not alone, not really. It was just the nerves talking.

"I'm coming!"

The next day Hinata knew what she wanted to do.

End.
