Edward stared at his remaining milk with a bad taste in his mouth.
"Finish all of your milk, boys," He hears his mother tell them as she clears away their mess from lunch.
"All done!" Alphonse announces proudly from sitting place beside him. The declaration just has him glaring harder at the happy cow on his bottle.
"It won't go away with your eyes, brother. It has to go in your mouth," Ed's glare shifts to Al, who's grinning wide.
"Alphonse, you still have some veggies. Finish them up, okay honey?" Mother grabs Al's milk bottle and heads back into the kitchen. Edward returns to thinking of just how he's going to made his milk disappear, when he feels tugging on his sleeve.
"What is it Alphonse?" is his terse reply.
"I'll drink it for you, Brother," Edward stiffens and looks at Al in disbelief. Disbelief quickly turns to blinding hope.
"For real? Thanks Al!"
"On one condition," he adds quickly. Ed's wary now.
"And that's…"
"Eat my vegetables." A milk bottle is thrust into Al hands.
"Sure thing!" Edward doesn't mind the greens; definitely not as much as he minds milk. When their mother comes back, she clears an empty plate and bottle.
"Whew! Al, you're a life saver!"
"Sure thing, Ed. What're brothers for?"
