At the time this was written, I hadn't seen NCIS season 2 "Meat Puzzle" So it's isn't cannon, like anything I do is.
A future Doctor. Picture if you will David McCallum (Illya Kuryakin-Man from UNCLE, Steel-Sapphire and Steel, Walter Thornhill-The Education of Max Bickford or in this case Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard of NCIS) as the Doctor. Welcome to my world.
Working at the crime scene, Kate was taking pictures and Tony was doing sketches of the scene. Gibbs was collecting evidence and Ducky worked on getting the body moved to his autopsy room. They were all busy and didn't notice the sound that filled the air… until the Roman column appeared out of nowhere.
A man dressed all in black stepped out of the column and spoke. "Well, doctor," said the man. "This is where you have been hiding at."
Ducky stepped forward. Gibbs, Kate and Tony all pulled their guns out.
"I thought we had a deal," said Ducky. "You stay out of the late 20th century and early 21st century, Master."
"Well, I had to come and look up my old friend, doctor," said the Master. "You helped me so much, that I wanted to thank you properly." The Master moved around the crime scene. "What have you gotten yourself into, Doctor?"
"I am working as Medical Examiner for Naval Criminal Investigative Service," said Ducky. He kept himself between the others and the Master.
"That is a bit below your standards," said the Master.
"I wanted to spend quiet time on Earth, Master," said The Doctor.
"Ducky, what the hell is going on?" demanded Gibbs.
"Oh, yes, doctor," said the Master. "I love this part when you explain it all to the humans." The man in the black clothes started to laugh.
Ducky let out a breath, "I wasn't born on this planet," said Ducky. "Come here, Kate."
Kate moved closer to Ducky.
"Now put one hand on the right side of my chest and the other hand on the other side of my chest," said Ducky.
Kate did as Ducky asked. She jerked her hands off the man. She turned toward Gibbs and Tony. "He has two hearts!" said Kate.
"Kate, you know that isn't possible," said Gibbs.
"Oh, Jethro, it is," said Ducky. "I do have two hearts on either side of my chest. I am from a planet called Gallifrey, but I am called a Time Lord."
"Doctor," said the Master. "Your choices of companions have always been lacking, but these three are worthy of your travels through time and space together."
"Oh no," said Ducky. "I will never take anyone back into my TARDIS and travel. Never. EVER!"
"Oh, doctor," said The Master. "You can never say never."
"Wait,"said Tony. "What is a TARDIS?"
"Time And Relative Dimension In Space," said the Master.
"WHAT?" said Kate.
"Kate understands," said Ducky. "Yes; I have a machine that travels through time and space."
"That isn't possible," said Kate.
"Wait," said Gibbs. "You can travel through time and space. You can go back in time and stop the Twin Towers from being hit?"
"Yes," said Ducky.
"Then why didn't you stop it in the first place," said Gibbs.
"It isn't my job to change history," said Ducky. "It is the Master who likes to play with history. I just watch it as all good Time Lords should do. Though I will admit to being very bored at just watching. I like being a part of history."
The Master stared to laugh
again. "You will never change," said the Master. 'I just
wanted to thank you for getting me this new body. I shall leave you
now."
He walked back over to the column, stepped into it, and
disappeared.
"Where is your TARDIS, Ducky?" asked Kate.
Ducky let out a breath and bent down and finished getting the body ready to move to the truck. Gibbs grabbed one end of the gurney and Ducky had the other as they moved up toward the truck. They put the body in the back and closed the door. The other three stood behind Ducky. Moving over to the side of the truck, Ducky pulled out a key and put it the side of the truck where there was no door. He turned the key and a door appeared. He held his hand out to the others to enter.
The three stepped into a large room with large control piece in the middle of the room.
Kate marveled at the sight.
Tony's jaw was on the floor.
Gibbs, he just stood there taking it all in.
"Welcome to the heart of the TARDIS," said Ducky. "From here I can go forward in Time or back in time or just go to another planet."
"This beats the hell out of Star Trek," said Tony.
"Well, there is a planet called Vulcan," said Ducky. "But after that nothing is the same."
Kate started to laugh. "Ducky, this is great," said Kate. "What's through that door?"
"Oh, it leads off to the library and bedrooms or the swimming pool or the arboretum," said Ducky.
"You have an arboreum in here?" asked Kate.
"Yes, and a couple of other things, too," said Ducky. He turned toward Gibbs. "What is wrong, Jethro?"
"I'm trying to figure out how you could have kept this a secret for all these years, Ducky," said Gibbs.
"Every day I came to work and changed my car into the NCIS truck," said Ducky. "Then I changed it back into my car at night. Once I was out of sight of everyone I knew, I just parked the car and came inside to sleep."
"Can I look around, Ducky?" asked Kate.
"You could get lost Caitlin, so not the best of ideas," said Ducky.
"So do you want to be called Doctor or Ducky?" asked Tony.
"Ducky is fine," said the Doctor. "I have been called that for a very long time and I like it."
