AN: short simple pov/slight AU I suppose of how Karma could have reacted or is reacting. I haven't written in a while so this is just a test drive for me I guess you could say.

It Couldn't Be

There she stands…wrecked. The consequence of her actions finally sinking in, her heart desperately demanding for a do over because what she was experiencing was simply not okay. It couldn't be. She felt like she was about to burst into flames and turn everything around her to ashes. Plump lips brush over hers once more, she squeezes her eyes tighter and hopes there's more to come.

But then all the sudden the pressure disappears and she begins to regain her senses. It's easier to breathe and to remember her surroundings but the air is still heavy around her. She swallows tightly and bewilderedly opens her eyes to observe the very core of all the turmoil her body had been put through.

"Wow"

It slips out before she can stop herself.

"I know" the response is almost instant from the very lips that had tasted her mere seconds ago. She wants to ask her how.

How could she possibly know? She frowns and eyes the girl in front of her.

She founds herself discarding her curiosity because the answer is right in front of her. Amy is looking at her with a look of hope and even some despair, as if she's trying to make a point to her.

"Wha-"

She chokes on the word when her view is blocked by Liam's back. The boy shifts and the next thing she knows she's being presented with the image of her two favorite people in the world engaging in a passionate lip-lock.

The sight of them crushes her from within but more than anything she's agonizing over the fact that she doesn't have the faintest idea who to blame. A small moan erupts from Liam before the pair pull apart. Amy is first to face her, cheeks slightly flushed and lips swollen. She decides right there that it's all because of Amy that she doubts herself…Amy that had repeatedly been questioning her quest for popularity and her unrelenting desire for Liam.

It's all because of her that everything is crumbling.

The fire within her dissipates until she's left with a cool raging storm. She takes a step back from Amy, too lost to notice the crestfallen look on the girl's face.

"I can't do this" she says.

She turns her back on them and runs as fast as she can to her car because this…this just couldn't be.
