So I was inspired after reading a story that just blew my mind and just had to write it down. It's a first for me, so criticism is helpful, but please be nice. Hope you all enjoy!
Silariel's Disclaimer: Sorry, don't own Harry Potter…so don't sue. Though I do have to say that this was an inspiration from the story "Silent I" by Bitter Red Irony…go read it!
Ballad of the Coffeehouse
Through the blistering market
Down the clean paved road
Into a simple story
That would never have been told
White shutters with the walls adorned in green
There quiet but strong it stood
A small little coffeehouse
That was never misunderstood
Here I was as I
Walked through the door
I was filled with a familiar aroma
All rich and galore
And right as I got ready to
Begin my shift
The ring of the gold bell above the door
Rang soft yet stiff
There was a man who walked through the door
Wearing a tie, black slacks
A gray shirt and a gold watch
Everything perfect, nothing lack
This man was no stranger
In the past he would come everyday
Order two drinks
And to a booth he made his way
And there he would wait
Looking through the window
His coffee untouched
With eyes as curious as a doe
Then as minutes pass by
Another ding from the bell rang
And in walked a woman dressed in black
Nice and casual with a voice that sang
She made her way to the table
Where the man sat and she sat down
No "hello" or "how are you"
Just the busy sound of the town
And there they sat for an hour
Drinking their coffee in peace
A comfortable silence surrounded them
Bundled up in coats of fleece
Then the man got up
Smiled at her and left
She stayed for a minute
And she too got up and left
And here I sat at the counter
Realizing how much this place was a haven
The comfortable silence and the warm fireplace
This could be a perfect place for saving
And as I walk out the door
Away from the market down the bend
And here our simple story
Has come to an end
