Hello, it's Autumn. This chapter is a short one, because this is a piece of my new short story. Comment and review, I'd love to hear your input. The next part is coming soon!
Five Roses, Part One
Once,
There was a beautiful, young noblewoman. The townspeople considered her the most beautiful woman in the world. Some even compared her beauty to that of the Goddess of beauty. Her parents held her at high standards… and a high price. Only the finest and richest of men would be chosen as her suitors.
Upon which time, the woman was having doubts upon her life. She began to loathe her gift and her parents' high expectations. She often found herself staring out over her balcony window at night, cursing the Gods for her dreadful life.
One night, she heard a rustle at the bushes beneath her. She crept softly and peered over the ledge. She was shocked at the sight. A man; a beautiful man stood smiling at her, holding five flowers. She called to him, asking his name and whence he had come. He merely shushed her, and she beckoned him to come to her. He shook his head softly, but climbed the bushes lining her balcony, and when he was just high enough for her to reach him, he stopped and outstretched the assortment of flowers.
"These flowers are the rarest in the world. Their beauty is captivating, but each flower dies one day after they're plucked. One after another, they begin to die as one of us…" She took them and smiled. She asked his name once more, but he gently touched her lips and then he was gone.
The next morning, she awoke to her parents in her chambers. They announced her betrothal to a wealthy landowner from a land afar. He would come for her in three days. Her parents left her sobbing. She cradled her loves flowers and realizes that one of them has died. With a heavy heart, she laid it on her vanity.
