Prologue
Gold-yellow eyes shone in the darkness of the night. Hidden by the many miles of trees, the wolf looked on. They scanned the area, looking for something, or someone. It spotted a figure, about 2 miles away. Suddenly there was a scream, and the person ran. Sandy-brown hair flew behind the girl's strong back. Feet moved soundlessly across the ground while voices yelled.
"There she is!" "Quickly! We can't let her get away!" Tch. They should give up now..Hmm…Or I could give them something to chase. Blue eyes looked up to the sky. The moon was full, its light shinning down on her and her surroundings. "Come on! She's getting away!" I don't have time for fun tonight... With a sigh she started sprinting, going faster and into a forest. Soon the yells were gone and there was no sound but the wind. Sighing again, the girl looked around. There was tree upon tree, not seeming to end. Going deeper she realized that something was watching her. She stopped her walking and looked around, sensing something. She could feel the eyes on her, following, curious and dangerous at the same time. Remembering that this forest had wolves in it made her sigh. Great…The wolf wants to eat me…Wonderful. Instead of turning and going back into town, she kept on walking. As the sun rose she found a good solid tree, climbed high in the branches, pulled out a knife, and fell asleep.
