Prompt: Butterflies & Blushes
Pairing: Kagome/Axel/Lea
Kagome Higurashi lounged lazily across the roof of one of the buildings just outside the main area of Radiant Garden. With heavy eyes she gazed at the sky as an array of clouds languidly floated by.
Enjoying the sun's rays, she let out a sigh of content. She hadn't been able to relax in such a long time, not since her world had been swallowed by the darkness. But after her talk with King Mickey, she had hope again and apparently a new purpose in life that she was still mostly unsure about.
She thoughtfully raised her right arm and flicked her wrist.
Nothing.
Frowning, she tried again.
Nothing.
Huffing in frustration, she recalled the red head's words.
"Something about visualizing and feeling," she muttered aloud.
Closing her eyes, she envisioned the keyblade in her mind's eye. And just as she started to feel something, a loud and obnoxious voice broke the silence.
"Yo Kagome!"
Startled, she jumped and nearly fell off the roof.
Scowling, she straightened herself out and stood tall on the roof. Crossing her arms, she glared at the red head.
"What do you want?"
Axel smirked arrogantly, reacquainting Kagome with a familiar feeling in the pit of her stomach, which she stubbornly ignored.
"Leon's looking for you. Something about skipping out on training."
She blanched and started to curse under her breath. Leon was a slave driver when it came to training, and no doubt she would be paying for missing.
He laughed at her gloomy expression.
"C'mon I'll…," he abruptly trailed off as he stared transfixed at the spot behind her, leaving Kagome confused.
He pulled out his own keyblade and she felt her stomach drop.
Cautiously, she whirled around to see what had caught his attention.
A large, colorful heartless fluttered just above her. She had never seen one like it before, and it reminded her oddly of a butterfly.
Gulping, she started to back up.
"Be careful of the…"
Kagome ignored him and kept moving backwards. Or she would of if she hadn't run out of room.
She screamed as she plunged to what she was sure would be her death. Of all the battles she had fought and barely scraped out of, her own stupidity would be her undoing.
Cursing the fates, she clenched her eyes shut and waited to hit the ground.
She hit something hard, but it was not the ground.
Groaning upon impact, Kagome felt her head start to spin. Slowly opening her eyes she found herself sprawled on top of Axel. Idiot had tried to catch her.
Lifting herself up, she stilled when he started to moan.
"Ugh," he grunted as Kagome watched his sea green eyes flutter open.
"You okay," she asked.
He winked at her and she felt her heart skip a beat.
"Never better, though I gotta admit I like the position,"
Looking down, she found that she was straddling him. Blushing in embarrassment, Kagome quickly scrambled off him. About to start yelling at him, the butterfly like heartless suddenly swooped down again.
Dodging, she raised her arm and found that her keyblade had appeared. Beside her stood Axel, his own keyblade raised defensively.
Axel grinned and spoke, "Let's deal with this thing and get some ice cream, yeah?"
Smiling back, Kagome nodded her head and prepared to attack.
