I had a random idea and I'm gonna see what becomes of it! This is for Unattainable Dream's One Word Prompt Exchange.
It's light and fluffy at times yet when the sun goes down it goes away with the light and lets the darkness overtake. The moon shines brightly down upon the building top and illuminates the vast area, not a single one is in sight on this day and I feel it signifies something far greater than anyone could have imagined. I remember when I was little I had always wanted to touch one, to feel it's softness and revel in the beauty that it was; it feels so long ago that I had that thought and being a young adult, I still have thoughts of getting away and finally receiving my wish though I know that is not possible. A sigh escapes my petals and I hold my head in the palms of my hands, I was getting frustrated for reasons only I know and wish no one else to know. Well, except for my best friend of all time, who also has the same wish and idea as myself. I believe that's why we've stayed so close, even when the darkness comes and the light is consumed. I gaze at the now twinkling stars and as I drift away, back into the abyss of my never ending day dreams, I wonder how everyone is doing; even him.
It can be thin and flimsy or thick and fluffy and it can warp into whatever your imagination desires. It can be cute and innocent or evil and dangerous, though who knows what it truly is. All we know is that it is lovely and beautiful whilst ragged and soaked with a thousand regrets. You know, there is one thing that we know for sure, it is a soldier with an ever troubling past and a darkness that always seems to follow no matter what he does to rid of it. We can sense his emotions and actions to an extent but otherwise he is calm and collected, never letting anyone inside. We all love him and care for him and we all know how he wishes to be finally be free. To float away and finally be at peace, to swim in an ever flowing stream of blue and yellow. Everyone wishes that at some time in their life. I know for a fact that we all do.
As you have read, these two souls wish for the same thing, along the same lines that is. They wish to be free from the darkness that flows and follows them around and dream of the day when they can float away with the ones they love and care for most deeply. Then again, doesn't everyone wish to do that? To float into a sea of endless blue and bend the awesomeness that is in the sky? To see what others potentially cannot? Nevertheless, you have heard the brief stories of those who wish to be light as a feather, so to speak. Let us drift off together; until we meet again.
