Conceived in darkness how a tumour grows
Unfurling and curling, too cold to glow
The sins of the mother upon the child cast plight
Peculiar and impoverished, bereft of light
Destiny be damned, plucked is he from the shanty
Grey orbs reflect their uncertainty aplenty
Stony rivers like mercury flow
Ebbing fretfully, no heart to know
A public life draped in most golden light
Could never brighten this inky night
Wealth and health in envious bounty
Encages him here, twice as soundly
Earthly suffering continues to bestow
Cruellest isolation his constant shadow
A tortured shell he wanders softly and without sight
His purest soul crushed beneath the rubble tight
A life such as this knows not understanding yet is despised profoundly
Whispers dance at his back, tearing him down groundly
Judgement day comes, alas, too wane to longer roam
Grey eyes cast upon her and at last, he is home
A/N: So, I'm writing again! Should have chapter updates soon but I was in a melancholy kinda mood (in a good way) and this just sort of happened. I've never really published any of my poetry before so this is new for me. Basically, it's a from birth to when Christian meets Ana sort of deal.
