When we first met,
You had just moved in.
I was with my grandfather,
When you walked in.
Your hair was short and chestnut brown,
And eyes were like sparkling Sapphires.
You skin looked like porcelain.
I feel when I touch you,
You might break apart.
You told me your name,
And I told you mine.
We smiled to each other,
And since then,
Grew close together.
When middle school came,
I was bullied and picked on,
Because my hair and eyes are strange,
and I'm shorter than everyone.
You stood up for me,
And never let me down.
That is when I knew,
I had fallen in love with you.
Through High school,
When ever I saw you,
My heart fluttered to life,
And the school day seemed dull no more.
You made life interesting for me again.
You helped me make two new friends,
And helped me help another,
The other me.
I knew you liked him,
But I liked you too.
But I dared not say a word.
When four years passed,
And the other me left.
I knew you were sad,
But when you smiled at me,
I felt as if you might have discovered something.
Another year passed,
And we all graduated.
You wanted to go into dance,
But didn't want to leave us.
So you stayed,
And I couldn't have been happier.
Then that day came,
Valentines day.
The day of lovers and couples,
Spouses and admirers.
I came to you house,
A bow of chocolates and flowers in hand.
I rang your door bell,
And when you answered,
My heart leaped.
You smiled at me and invited me in.
I gave you my gifts,
And you smiled and said "thank you",
In that sweet voice you use.
You told me: "I'm sorry,
I didn't get you anything."
I didn't care,
So I said it was fine.
We talked for a few hours,
Left and ate lunch.
We went to the fair,
And went around town.
When we came back to your house,
I looked at you and said:
"Anzu, I've known you,
For so long.
I wanted to know,
If our friendship,
Can evolve."
You smiled and blushed a pretty pink.
And agreed.
Since then we have been going out,
And soon,
We got married.
Now here we are,
In New York,
Awaiting for the Taxi to get us to where your show will be.
I can't help but smile,It must've been destiny.
To earn such a gift.
Now here I am,
On Valentines Day,
Holding you hand,
And smiling.
I say:
"Happy Anniversary."
