Window to the Soul By StickPegasus PG Disclaimer: Actually, since no names are mentioned, perhaps I have a claim to this! Awesome! I'm not making any money anyway, drat it. Summary: Angsty Remus muses on the changes in Sirius.

It used to be that you could enter a room and light it up with just a grin. Your jubilance was so infectious that not even I, mere hours after transformation, Was immune to it. The very sight of your smile and the sparkle in your eye Would turn any darkness away without second thought. Lately, though, as hard as you try to regain your fire, It seems that a part of you is still held captive. Those long years you fought to keep your mind, your self, But despite the steadfast efforts, part of you was lost. Where bright blue eyes once sparkled with fantastic life Now sits an empty glaze. Like a layer of fog, perhaps. Every so often when you sit quietly it lowers upon you And I can feel your thoughts turning dark, they are so intense. Something so dark has a grip on your soul, still, after so many months of freedom, Or perhaps it is merely the open wounds inside you. It will take long hours of care to heal those wounds, If they will ever wholly heal. I can feel your soul bleeding, love, And it kills me to know that you suffer. They say that the eyes are windows to the soul- Yours used to be. Perhaps they still are. Perhaps you've changed more than I am willing to admit, And you are closed off from everything. But in certain moments, I can see a glint of hope shining through the dark shroud. An occasional sparkle. All is not lost, for inside that flame still burns. Together we will light the fire. That is my duty to you.
