Draco regained consciousness in the Infirmary, only to find his friends Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle sitting and waiting for him.

"Where's Pansy?!" Draco demanded.

His two friends looked at one another before playing a quick round of robes, wands, and dragons, ending when Vincent picked robes and Gregory picked dragons.

"Fine!" Vincent huffed and turned to Draco. "She left with Miss Granger and Miss Lovegood to go and visit Mr. Potter, Draco," Vincent explained sheepishly.

"What? And since when are you so nice about calling the mudblood or the scarhead by their names?" he demanded.

"Uh... well, Miss Granger explained herself really clearly, Draco. She said using words like those could get us into a lot of trouble with Mr. Potter," Vincent replied.

Before Draco could retort, Gregory added in his own explanation.

"And after what Mr. Potter did to Professor Snape, neither of us wanted to be on his bad side, Draco," he said.

"Why did Pansy go off with the scarhead, and what did he do to my godfather?" Draco asked more reasonably.

"He defesnerated... degenerated... um... he tossed him out of the tallest window in the Great Hall when the professor pointed his wand at Miss Lovegood," Vincent said.

"And Miss Parkinson said that due to her father being served with notification from Gringott's that you had been subdued in combat, as your betrothed, her person was awarded to the victor," Gregory said.

"Scarhead has Pansy now?!" Draco screamed.

Both larger boys looked concerned.

"No, Draco. Miss Lovegood had Pansy now. She said you attempted to battle her with music and she was victorius over you with nothing more than the melodic sound of her voice. That's when Professor Snape pointed his wand at her," Gregory explained.

Vincent nodded and added, "And Miss Lovegood was really pleased. She said she had been admiring Pansy from afar and will be enjoying the opportunity to admire her much, much more closely."

Draco looked down at his hands, contemplating all of the revelations coming to him like hammer blows. He looked back up at his friends.

"You both must think I'm an idiot," Draco confessed sadly.

Both boys shook their heads.

"No, Draco. But what is our opinion against hundreds of others?" Gregory asked.
