Sonoko grinned to herself as she walked home. Normally she wouldn t like going home on her own, but she was too happy to be scared. Since no one had done anything for the class project in her group, she did a rare thing and stepped up. Sonoko had written a wonderful article about Kudo Shinichi and how his wife (the group had to edit some terms) was waiting for him still.
Little did Sonoko know that a simple sloppy article about old news would put her in danger. She was almost home. Sonoko had stayed out all night with her class at the karaoke place celebrating even though it was really an excuse for everyone to go somewhere together.
Sonoko stopped as a huge man got in front of her, his slow pace annoying. She debated walking around him, but then a lady with short redish hair joined the man, and they walked side by side, blocking the entire sidewalk.

Sonoko slowed down, a little aggravated at just how snail paced she had to walk. She caught snippets of their conversation, which seemed a bit one-sided.
I don't see why we have to do this. We re long range and they re short range. It makes more sense for them to do the short range right? The woman complained in an utterly annoying voice that even Sonoko couldn t top. Interestingly enough, the man seemed to have nothing to say, but the woman didn't seem bothered by his silence. Instead the woman sighed, stopping right in Sonoko s way. And this of course, caused Sonoko to run into the woman.
Oh! Sorry Sonoko said, even though she thought about telling her to warn people before she randomly stopped. The woman smirked, and the man turned toward Sonoko. The teenager began to wonder if she had run into gang members, since they were menacing, and the woman had a butterfly tattoo on her eye.
Sorry isn t good enough, little girl. Since you seem to know about how that detective got wiped off the face of the earth, we ll have to end you as well. Sonoko s eyes got big. Wh-what are you talking about?! Then the woman s smirk got bigger. And if you don t, we couldn t possibly risk you blabbing about this incident. Sonoko had no time to react as the woman suddenly lunged at her covering her mouth with one hand and the other coming around her neck. she swallowed and was enveloped in darkness as she passed out
Sonoko woke up. And she almost screamed about that very fact to every person that lived in Japan. SHE WOKE UP. Had it been a bad dream? She thought she had melted. Sonoko laughed at herself as she sat up, rubbing her eyes. Of course, only dreams would make it able to melt. She then realized that her bed was hard and cold. And her pajamas were so huge Sonoko screamed bloody murder. MY FAVORITE DRESS GOT TOO BIG!
Sonoko pulled at her oversized dress and moped. What kind of crazy thing do I have to do to get this to fit again?! She then stood up, holding onto her dress. AND MY SHOES! She stared at her now huge shoes sitting in front of her. There was only one size of those! Sonoko picked up her shoes and checked the size, wondering if they had magically changed to size 20 or something. The size had not changed. Sonoko made her way to the open sidewalk, where people were walking to school and other jobs.
She looked around and continued walking holding her dress that was trying to swallow her and holding her shoes in her arms.
