When Legends Rust
Author's Note: This Poem was inspired by the ending of Wind Waker, more specifically by the piece of music "Farewell Hyrule King". It Is a powerful song, one which will shudder to the bones anyone familiar with the legend.

The ancient throne falls with a thunderous crash
as sacred ground is trampled by heathen feet
culture and knowledge, they crisp to ash
the end of the timeless land we go to meet
The blades of legend never yield
But do not fight without heroes hand
As dust is gathered by sword and shield
the world crumbles into sand
Marble sculptures crack and golden spires fall
precious paintings fade 'long with the royal tree
the ivory keys cry out their final mournful call
and immortal legends rust
'neath a cruel salted sea
