Hey guys! Little one shot about the precinct's April Fool's day. My super awesome social studies teacher gave a pop quiz on Friday... with questions about himself. It was really fun to look around and see confusion then realization among everyone! Did anyone else get pranked/pull any pranks? I'd love to hear them! Anyways, I know it's a little late, but I really wanted to post this. Kind of short, but oh well. Enjoy and review!
April Fool's day was a day much despised by most everyone at the SFPD. It was only because of on person; you guessed it, Kai. Yes, as you can imagine, Kai was the practical jokester. He probably pulled at least three pranks every April Fool's day, if not more. Everyone's guard was up, especially because he had the day off and still chose to spend it at the precinct, watching his pranks attack innocent people.
The first victim of Kai's pranks was Joe Burtaugh. Kai had the graveyard shift the day before, so it was incredibly easy for him to set up pranks. It was hilarious to Kai when Joe opened the door to his seemingly normal office, finding it full of balloons. Yes, balloons. Two hundred and fifty-four of them, to be exact, according to Kai.
The pranks continued all day. No one was safe except for Kai himself. Some were classic, like whoopie coushins on chairs. Some were more... Original. Mal was specifically targeted in one of these original pranks. When Mal opened his office door, a bucket of dry rice rained down upon him. Yes, he was very much ready to strangle Kai. Most of the people pranked would agree.
One of the younger new officers, Matt Palow, should have been mortified by Kai's prank on him. When he walked into the precinct for the start of the afternoon shift, a hidden radio started to blast the song, "I'm Sexy and I Know It." Matt, however, started dancing, showing absolutely no embarrasment at all. The song ended and Matt stood up. He bowed to the applause that was spreading across the precinct. Someone yelled, "Heck yeah! Defy the system!" which got another round of laughter and applause.
Kai even had the nerve to prank Natara. He had snuck outside after she drove in and spent nearly two hours covering her car in post-it notes. Let's just say that Natara was furious after a long day of work that she had to peel off sticky notes before she could go home.
Anyone who was left standing agreed: Revenge needed to happen. Everyone gathered in Mal's office and a plan was made. The prank war was about to begin. Everyone was put into pairs. Mal and Natara, Amy and Blaise, Matt and Joe, and some other cops. Each "team" would have a bucket of water balloons. At three, everyone would pelt Kai with water balloons. Captain Yeong helped by telling Kai that there was a package for him at the front door of the precinct. She was fed up with officer after officer complaining about Kai.
At 2:55, the selected revenge team went outside. They waited. At 3:00, Kai approached the group. The second he opened the dor, he was hit by five buckets of water balloons. The look on his face was priceless.
"Uh, April Fool's?" Kai mumbled, looking down at his soaking wet clothes.
And so, the moral of the story is, never pull pranks on April Fool's day unless you are prepared to be ambushed with water balloons. The end.
