Brianna wandered home after school, her head pounding, she took the way she'd been warned against. The wood path. The woods were dark and full of slippy mud. Flicking her blonde hair away from her crystal blue eyes, she carefully avoided the mud, listening to That's just the way we roll, her brother Jason's band Connect Three's song. It soothed her headache and relaxed her, so she didn't see the first punch coming. The punches rained down on her head and torso.
Chris and Michael Harper stood above her, sneering. "Your older brothers ruined our chance to be famous! Him and his band of gay faggots!" Chris said, leering. Brianna was only 13 and rather small and weak for her age. Chris and Michael were both taller than six foot tall and football players. They were roughly 16 and 19. "My brother is not gay! Neither are his band mates!" she shrieked, outraged. Big mistake.
More punches were thrown then Michael got his hands around her neck and squeezed hard. Brianna choked, feeling the life leaving her body slowly. Two guys, one only a year or so older than her, the other two, maybe three years older still, ran up and grabbed the Harpers off of Brianna.
Brianna stood, somewhat shakily, and collapsed. The older guy picked her up and carried her home to her older brother.
Jason was waiting at his house for his younger sister Brianna to come home. When she didn't turn up 30 minutes after she normally got home, he began to worry. When his bandmates, Shane Gray and Nate Mattero, brought her home unconcious, he panicked. "What the hell happened?" Jason shouted.
"We were walking in the woods when we saw Brianna being beaten up, so we got rid of the asses that were hurting her and she just collapsed." Shane replied, carefully placing Brianna on the couch. Nate stared, boggled that Shane knew the word 'collapsed'. Jason was mad, more than he'd ever been before.
"Ja-Jasey?" a voice, tired and croaky, asks. It's Brianna, just woken up, asking for comfort from her brother. Jason sits and holds Brianna in a big bear hug, gently though. "I'm here, Bri. Who did this to you?" He whispers. "Chris and Michael Harper." She whispers back, looking up at Shane and Nate, big blue eyes going wide with curiosity. "I'm Shane, this is Nate. We're in Jason's band and we got those boys off you. How're you feeling? It looking like he was strangling you pretty hard." Shane introduced, bluntly.
Jason was furious. "What did you say?" he spat. His face went bright red and he started to splutter and stammer, something he only does when he's really really furious. "Shane!" Nate scolded. Brianna thought this was funny and cute. "It's alright, he would find out eventually anyway." Brianna said, nonchalant and dismissive.
"They said you took away their chance to be famous. Does that mean you won the compition?" She asked. Jason, Shane and Nate nodded in unison. "We're going to LA next week." Jason stated proudly. Brianna's sapphire eyes filled with tears. "What about me? Please don't leave me here alone!" She cried. Jason's heart dropped. He hadn't thought of that.
The three boys became famous and the little sister got left behind and forgotten.
