For some of you, this is an early greeting, but Happy Valentine's Day! This was actually one of my earliest stories, written during my first couple of months of being a writer :P Anyway, I hope you all enjoy
please review! ^^
"Look at this," She scoffed. She didn't point at anything, as it was all around them.
Valentine's Day.
Couples were walking along here and there. The sweet scent of flowers and the delicious smell of chocolates flooded her nose, and she struggled to try not cover it.
Walking by she saw even those she thought she'd never see giving love doing so.
"Neji? Really?" she indicated the man holding flowers in front of Tenten, who was blushing madly.
"Jeez, Temari," The man walking with her sighed. "Give them a break, will you? It's Valentine's Day."
"Since when did you care about romance, Shikamaru?" she looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"It's not like that, woman. I just know how to respect other people's feelings and privacy. Maybe you should try that too."
She crossed her arms. "Fine."
They continued walking through the path full of love. Temari however, seemed almost unaffected.
"I don't see why Valentine's Day is so big here. I mean, sure the girls get presents, chocolates, flowers, and the rest of the package, but what's in it for the guys?"
"The girls."
She chuckled slightly. "Good point." She looked to the ground while walking on. "I guess I'm just not a Valentine's Day sort of person."
He stopped walking and looked at her. "How many people have ever asked you to be their valentine?"
She too stopped walking and looked at him, shocked. "I'll have you know," she began, "That I have had plenty of requests."
Shikamaru smirked. "And just how many of these requests have you ever accepted?"
She looked down once again. "None."
Shikamaru sighed. "Well there's your problem." He continued walking and she followed him.
He walked into a shop and bought some things. "What you're missing is someone to give you these," he handed her flowers, "These," he said as he handed her a heart shaped box. "And someone to ask you; "Will you be my valentine?" to which you would answer as...?"
Temari took a while to understand his doings. When it finally hit her she smiled.
"Yes Shikamaru," she responded. "I'd love to be your valentine."
End.
