Chapter 1

Alternative – The Vanishing Glass

Lily woke with a start this was the third day this week she had this horrible nightmare. She looked over at her husband. Good she did not wake him. Looking at the clock that sat at her bedside table she realized that it was only 11 pm she had slept for only 30 minutes. But come to think of it, it was Halloween the night that it all began. It was 11 years ago but ever since then she had never been able to sleep that night. She rolled over in her covers and tried to fall asleep to no avail. This was the night that would never leave her be but she deserved to not be able to sleep this night off.

The night that would never leave her memory was a cool Halloween night and she was taking Harry her newly born son home from a visit with her up kept sister Petunia. She wanted to take the shorter way home because she was getting tired and did not want to spend much time in the car. So she sped and drove into the busy street unfortunately the car ahead of her slammed on its breaks as soon as she pressed the gas and then nothing. She could not remember anything after that but she imagined it many many times. She must have hit her head on the steering wheel and got knocked out but Harry poor Harry. Completely innocent in everything get the worst of the scars. He never once faulted he did not have the ability to, yet he lots the most that day. Somehow he hit his head horribly and received a horrible scar on the top of his forehead, but that was not the worst of it. Ever since that day Harry had never been right in the head.

Harry had had trouble staying in reality ever since that day, but it was never to horrible. The only truly hard times were when the family went to visit the Dursleys. Harry seemed to go into his own world during those visits. He would act horribly towards his uncle saying things completely out there. Once during Dudley's birthday party Harry ran inside and started trying cooking breakfast, that was ok and sort of cute at first until he actually turned on the stove and deciding that was not a good idea Harry was taken quickly out of the kitchen. Late that day the party moved to the zoo. Harry received a lemon ice pop later but not to his liking. He would have preferred something else but sugar just made him jump off the walls and that was just not the best decision it was after all Dudley's day not Harry's. The worst part of that day did not happen till the reptile house. Harry seemed to have calmed down but when entering the reptile house and reaching the Python he pretended to talk to it. After that there was a sharp screeching noise and the glass popped right in front of him. A man jumped behind him holding some sort of device that the noise was coming from. The noise making man grabbed the snake put it in a bag and ran away. Harry never seemed to recover from this dramatic event. He seemed to have thought that he made the glass break, ever since that day he seemed more and more out of his mind and it was harder for Lilly to help him every day.
