Okay, so I have an OC. Please give him a chance because the entire reason I made this story was for Jack to be happy. I might have minor spelling issues, a bunch of inconsistent tense issues, and at some parts my story may not flow as well. I haven't written anything in forever, so just a fair warning. I have been suffering from horrible writers block for about two years. I was able to create this, but not as well as I hope.

Anyway, if you're still here, I hope you enjoy it. Telling me of small errors would be appreciated, since I may have looked them over.

I'm also hella bad at using transitions sometimes.

OH AND the prologue will be the shortest chapter. I have up to chapter 5 written right now and they are supper long(well longer than the prologue).

Okay, okay. Enjoy the story!

"Alright, ready to turn her on?" Rose announced after making a couple more adjustments on the console in front of her.

This console was a control panel to a machine that Rose's family created. This machine was a window into another universe. Two columns rose on either side of a ring of metal. The ring was approximately 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide. The console is behind a glass screen. Many wires ran from both columns to the console.

John Tyler-Smith(Rose's husband) and their son Alex are brilliant. Alex spent time in America to earn his PhD in engineering. He also studied quantum physics and quantum mechanics. John Tyler-Smith, has a gigantic influence on Alex. John is brilliant as well, being that he's half Time Lord.

Alex gave a hesitant nod from his position in front of the metal ring.

John looked up from his instruments. "I'm detecting a crack. If we don't get it this time we may never get this opportunity again." John ran over to the console where Rose was.

Rose flipped a switch. The room filled with soft humming and clicking noises.

"And she's on!" Rose exclaimed.

"Locking onto the crack… locked on!" John shouted. He took Rose's hand in his own. Both of them stared at the metal ring in the middle of the room.

Alex flipped a couple switches on one of the metal columns. The ring began to emit an angry rumbling.

"Everythings clear to go," Alex said.

Rose heaved a switch. Her mind flashed back to the day at Canary Wharf when she was separated from the Doctor for the first time. She pushed that memory back. That was part of her old life, now she has a new one with John.

A loud crack split the air as the lever clicked into place. A second later, an even louder crash echoed through the room. A strong wind surged through the room. The wind was pulling them toward the ring.

"Rose!" John yelled. A sudden weight pinned her down.

The wind left as quick as it came and the entire room was dark. John stood up, pulling Rose along with him.

"That shouldn't have happened…" John muttered solemnly.

Rose made sure to flip all the switches to off.

"I guess the machine shorted out the power," Rose suggested.

Suddenly, the power flickered back on. Rose looked around and saw the complete state of array that their workshop was in. She also saw how messy John's hair was. However, there was one thing she didn't see which worried her most of all.

Alex was gone.
