Kurt was in the kitchen making a cake when the phone rang. He picked it up. Suddenly Kurt's stomach twisted into a Knot. Like his body knew what was happening before his mind.

"K-Kurt" The voice on the phone sniffled. It was Burt and he was crying. Kurt knew whatever was happening must be really bad since his dad rarely cried.

"Are Rachel and Santanna home?" Burt said.

"No, Rachel is rehearsing for Funny Girl and Santanna is working." Kurt replied nervously.

"I guess you will have to deliver the message."

"What message? Dad, what's going on?" Tears were streaming down Kurt's face now and he didn't even know yet.

"You are going to want to sit down for this." Burt said. Kurt sat down on the couch. All he wanted was for his father and the love of his life to be sitting next to him.

"Kurt, are you sitting down" Burt said.

"Ye-yeah dad." Kurt replied with tears in his eyes.

"Kurt," his father cried. "Finn is... Finn is dead!" His father started crying very hard. Kurt let out a horrific scream. He hadn't cried this hard since his mom died. Now his brother was dead and there was nothing Kurt could do about it. He could barely choke out one word.

"How?"

"It was a car accident. He went to go to the store and another car ran into him. He died immediately. Then they took off. The funeral will be next week. You need to come back to Lima as soon as possible."

"I'm coming home as soon as I tell Santanna and Rachel. I love you."

"I love you too Kurt, now I have to go comfort Carole. Goodbye."

"Bye."

Kurt was in shock. He cried for hours and hours. Then Santanna and Rachel came home.

"Kurt oh my god what's going on!" Rachel yelled.

"Sit down both of you." Kurt said. He looked at them and decided to rip the bandage off. But when he tried to talk nothing came out.

"Kurt please you're scaring me. What's going on?" Santanna asked.

"Finn died in a car accident and the funeral is next week and we have to go to Lima immediately!" Kurt said. Santanna screamed and Rachel just sat in silence. Then they all hugged each other. They all felt as if a piece of them was missing.

The next day Kurt and Santanna were off to go home.

"Are you sure you don't want to come?" Kurt asked Rachel.

"I cant. It would be too painful." She replied

And then with that they were off. They were going to learn to carry on, without Finn.
