"I Thought You Were a Decent Person" Written by me!
The words so clear and sharp
That were said in that dreaded field
Now many months later
Still haunt me to my core
Like a knife in my heart
Twisting and turning
I can never get away
I thought I could handle it
That I would be okay
So why does it haunt me so?
Why can't I let it go?
Every time I close my eyes
I see her face
My friend
She wouldn't fight me
Her scornful eyes
Clear and bright
Digging in my soul
The look of disgust
Upon her face
As she said just before
I threw the knife in her heart
"I thought you were a decent person"
