Ripples of thunder sounded far from the spot when Xander held Willow. She
had grown quieter, her sobs few and far between, shaking still there but
less noticeable. He pulled back. Oh god Willow, be okay, please be okay,
Xander thought, rubbing her back trying his best to keep her from losing it
again. He pulled back a little. Losing his grip on her to look at her
face. Willow kept her head down, letting in great quivering sobs again.
Tears fell to the dirt ground like rain.
"Willow"
he pushed her chin up to look at him. For a moment they held eye contact, her face and eyes drained of colour. For a moment.
"You'll be okay. I won't leave you."
Willow threw up beside them onto a patch of weeds. She started sobbing again.
"We have to get you home."
Xander rubbed her shoulder. He was scared. Willow, obviously not evil anymore looked like she'd been dead for a couple hours. Her usually pale skin was translucent. Bruises were forming on her hands. Not to mention withdrawal would probably hit her twice as hard this time as it had when she first tried to give up magic. He had to get her home. But the moment he said this she looked up again whimpered. He could tell she was trying to say something. Her lips moving, effort draining her more.
"Tt-tara. She's on the floor. By the bed. I left her on the floor" she closed her eyes.
Xander didn't know what to say, his eyes welled. But he couldn't show it, she needed someone strong. He had to be strong for her.
"To my place then...it'll be fine. I can look after you. We just have to get you somewhere safe."
She nodded, her eyes still closed. So did Xander.
Suddenly her eyes shot open. Her lips crunched together, she grabbed her stomach and threw up again. The hand she had been supporting her self up with buckled, she fell. Xander moved closer to her, his eyes full of fear as she shook with the force of an earthquake, and then go still as her eyes closed and she fell unconscious.
He checked her pulse. Racing. Without thinking he picked her up and began to run as fast as he could away from the hill. She moaned in her sleep, her body almost 15 pounds lighter than it had been. He ran back to Sunnydale.
