Something About Pigtails
DG32173
Sarah: WELCOME to my first ever Aria/Aqua fanfic. All I've done, at the start of this story, is read both manga. Aqua is the prequel to Aria, to those who don't know. I am preparing to watch the Aria anime as I write this, but I love both manga completely. And the entire time I was reading them, from Akatsuki's first appearance, I just had this idea bouncing around about Akatsuki and Akari. So I thought I'd write it down while I still had it going. This will start as a one-shot. If I get enough reviews asking for it, I might make it into a full-blown fanfic. Or maybe if I get the muse, I'll do it anyway.
DISCLAIMER
Guh, the ONE thing about being a fanfic authoress I absolutely HATE! The stupid disclaimer. But if I don't put it in, I might be sued, and I have no money, so getting sued would be bad. So here it is: I ONLY OWN WHAT I WRITE! ARIA AND AQUA IS OWNED BY AMANO KOZUE! There's your stupid disclaimer. Just don't sue me.
SUMMARY
There was something about pigtails that just makes Akatsuki smile. Akatsuki/Akari
STORY (or possibly Prologue)
Her super long pigtails caught my attention first. I just had to tug them. I could tell she was an Undine, but I didn't realize she was only part-time. I was a part-time Salamander at the time, so I felt at ease teasing her. Her beautiful mentor caught my attention second, but I couldn't stop sneaking glances at Pigtails, as I decided to call her. She hadn't given me her name, and I had to call her something! "Hey, you!" is okay when calling a guy, but when it's a girl's attention you're trying to nab, it's a whole different story. And I wasn't about to call her Pinky, though her hair was a startling bright pink. Well, not exactly pink. More like a reddish pink, but it sure was bright.
It was some time before I learned her name. Akari. It's such a pretty name. And she is very pretty. But when she smiles straight at you, damn if she isn't the only thing you see. She is absolutely breathtaking when she smiles straight at you, with you the center of her attention. Even her mentor, the lovely Alicia, can't compare to Akari when she gives you that smile.
Okay, maybe I'm a bit obsessed with her. A few of the female Salamanders wear their hair in pigtails. And every time I see a girl with pigtails, I instantly think of Akari. Something about that girl just makes me smile, damn if I know why. Even seeing pigtails on another girl can get a small smile from me, when I think back to that girl. It's just something about pigtails. I don't know why or how, but that girl has become someone special to me.
"Akatsuki-kun! Are you coming?" Akari calls, glancing back at me with a smile.
"Ai! Ai!" I call, sprinting to catch up. I guess watching Akari from behind has caused me to fall behind the group. We all met up on our day off, Al, Woody, Akari, Aika, Alice, and I. Even without the girls' mentors, it is a rare occasion for even the six of us to all have the same day off. So we decided to enjoy the day together. I gently tug Akari's pigtails when I rejoin the group.
"What was that for?" she cries, glaring at me.
"No reason, Pigtails," I reply with a smirk. That name always hits a nerve with her. She's even cute when she's upset, which is such a rare thing.
"My name is not Pigtails!"
Yes, it is the start of a beautiful day with friends. Maybe, one day, I will be able to tell Akari how I really feel about her. Until that day comes, I will treasure the time I spend as her friend.
Sarah: okay, okay, I'm gonna make this full-blown fanfic, about how Akatsuki finds a way to go from friend to lover with Akari … and maybe even husband! So that is why there is an M-rating, for future purposes.
