The sight at the large clearing was definitely that of supernatural proportions. On one side, a large, impressive army stood dressed to impress and chomping at the bit. One the other, an equally impressive few stood against them, standing tall and proud, apprehension nipping at their heels. It was a motley crew of all different walks of life. Not only were there humans, but also giant horse-sized wolves.
Towards the back of the line-up, a lone wolf gazed with naked fear at the spectacle before her. She didn't understand what was going on. There were 26 other wolves and her head was filled with jumbled voices, no one standing apart from the rest. However, she could hear what was being said among the two armies. What did they mean that the little girl wasn't an immortal child? What was going on?
Suddenly, two figures joined them on the field. Her attention was focused on the male. H was unlike anything that she'd seen before and her whole being wanted nothing more than to go to him. Taking a few steps forward, she found her way blocked, reminding her of where she was, what was going on before her. So instead she watched as he approached the rising conflict. As he began to talk, the cacophony of voices rose to a loud roar, rendering her incapable of hearing anything that he said. Out of the voices, all that she could understand was the word 'half-breed' being bandied about.
Finally, the opposing army retreated and you could feel the tension slowly dissipate as those around her relaxed and gave way to celebration. She gave in to the pull she felt and walked slowly towards the man.
As she drew near, he turned towards her as though he felt the pull as well. As she came to a stop, she realized he was only a head taller than her in this form. Looking up, their gazes locked and everything around them fell away. She knew that this day, this moment, would change her life forever.
