High Prince Adiel, age five, walked into his father's office room one day while High King Peter and his wife, High Queen Alyssa, were needless to say snogging behind his desk.
"Gross, father, mother," he scrunched his face with disgust clearly written on his face.
They pulled apart, and Alyssa blushed a slight shade of pink as Peter laughed whole heartedly. He pulled his son on his lap.
"All right, Adiel my son?" Peter asked.
"I was just wondering," Adiel said.
"And what were you wondering, ma cherie [darling]?" Alyssa asked.
"Do you love me more than Rhindon?" Adiel looked to his father.
"Yes," Peter smiled.
"Do you love me more than Delilah?" Adiel asked looking at his mum's sword.
"Yes," she chuckled. "I do love you more than Delilah."
"Do you love me more than Adrianna?"
"No, we love you both equally."
"Darn. Do you love me more than ruling Narnia?"
"Yes, of course, Adiel," Peter said.
"Of course we do, darling. What makes you ask so?" Alysa said.
"Well, I just finished my lessons with the stupid princess from-"
"Adiel, princesses are not stupid," his mother spoke the brief chid.
"Sorry, Mum," he muttered. "Anyways, I was in my lessons with Professor Tumnus; he said, 'You must love Aslan above everything. Family members, friends, your favourite toy or weapon. You must love Him unconditionally. You must have faith in the All Mighty God. You must always walk in His light and never submit to sin.'
"And I seem to concur that I wonder if you love me more than Aslan."
"What do you think," Alyssa pulled him into her lap.
"I think that you love us equally," Adiel said.
Alyssa turned her gaze to the floor and then back to her son in the span of a minute before responding after what seemed like an aeon to Adiel. She looked at Peter, What are we supposed to say?
"Sorry, mon fils [my son]," Alyssa said.
"We love Aslan more," Peter said.
"But, Son of Adam, 'tis not mean that they do not love you. Their love for you and your sister is unconditional," Aslan spoke as the three of four family members turned to the great Lion.
"Aslan!" Adiel ran and hugged His mane.
Aslan chuckled and gave the boy a hug, "Go on, my son. Tell your sister what you have just heard."
"Yes, sir!" he saluted causing small chuckles to go around the room as the High Prince ran to tell his sister.
Auth. Note: I was bored. I figured that people should know to love God [Aslan] above everything, including family. It doesn't mean that you don't love them any less than you do now; it just means that you should love God more. To think that he loves us more than we know is brilliant! Our love for Him is not even a fraction of His love for us. Take that piece of wisdom and spread it to everyone. It doesn't mean that you don't have to love everyone, which you don't, but you should have a reason to dislike one person. You should have a reason to be mad at someone and not just mad because they are mad at you.
