Disclaimer: Mai Hime does not belong to me. I do own, however, a copy of Modern Warfare 3.
Care Package
"So… what Natsuki is saying… is that the crate exploded when she tried to pick it up?" Shizuru asked carefully, not sure if she quite understood what Natsuki had been rambling about. The girl had spent most of her day playing those video games of hers, screaming and cursing at people Shizuru could not see or hear. At first, it was amusing how animated Natsuki was whenever she played her games.
Right now, however, Shizuru was genuinely intrigued on what went on said game to make her lover so… agitated. Not that she was complaining, though. Because, really, a hot and bothered Natsuki was just so sex-
"Yeah, see, this person here —from the opposing team— dropped a Care Package. They're usually full of goodies, but this new game has, like, a fake Package thing? And—no! Motherfucker, I will end you! Use the grenade launcher on me, will you?" The blue-haired girl bellowed as she made quick work of mashing the buttons on her controller, body moving as if she were actually dodging bullets. Shizuru leaned forward from her sitting position on the couch, putting her elbow on her lap and resting her chin on her open palm; watching Natsuki curiously all the while.
"That's right, son of a- yeah!" Her arms went up in victory, just for a second, celebrating the demise of the person that had previously killed her. Then, she went back to work her controller in ways that made Shizuru think of other… tasks… she could assign to such skilled fingers. That train of thought was interrupted when Natsuki resumed her explanation of the game.
"Okay, so… he dropped the fake crate and when I tried to steal it from him, it exploded on me! Such a cheap move. Can't kill me by yourself?" Her younger half yelled at the microphone currently hovering by her lips, those lips curling in a smirk when the response — which Shizuru could not hear— came.
"Ara-ra. Natsuki gets so furious… I'd find it more adorable if I weren't admittedly intimidated." Shizuru confided with a smile, said smile broadening when Natsuki turned to look at her— green eyes so wide and earnest, it reminded Shizuru why she loved her so much.
"Don't be. I wouldn't get like this with you, you know… as long as you don't use explosive Care Packages on me." The statement was accompanied by a chaste kiss to her lips, which was, in turn, accompanied by a broad smile. Probably at the faint blush that dusted over Shizuru's cheeks.
Clearing her throat, unaccustomed to not having leverage over Natsuki (even though the girl was certainly getting better at catching her off-guard), Shizuru tried to push down the pink hue that stained her otherwise neutral visage. Her lover had already abandoned her for the game, ranting on about 'P-90s, M16s, and those fucking quickscopers' endlessly. Of course, Shizuru pretended to hear most of what she said (she had no clue what Natsuki was going on about), but she decided it was worth to put up with her lover's loud and animated gaming.
Hey, maybe she would even bring out the extra controller they had next time. The thought of challenging Natsuki, while absurd, was amusing enough for her to consider the idea. For now, she would sit there and watch— smiling whenever Natsuki got shot in the head.
Author's Note: Quick drabble written at three in the morning.
ShizNat has been an obsession of my mine since Mai Hime came out. I love the pairing and have always wanted to write about them.
I hope that it was to your liking, or that it, at the very least, made you smile. :D
