"What is it?" Elphaba said, not bothering to look up from her book.

Galinda sighed again. "Cooped up. Stranded. At the library, of all places!"

Elphaba rolled her eyes. "No need to be so dramatic about it. You could leave anytime you want."

"And ruin my dress in this rain?" Galinda gasped. "Popsicle bought it as a present for me, all the way from the Emerald City. It even came with --"

"-- A perfectly complementary hat, yes yes I know." Elphaba rolled her eyes again. "Find something to read, then. Quietly."

Galinda huffed while pulling out her wand and spell book, and flipped through the pages absentmindedly.

Not five minutes later Elphaba was interrupted again by the giggling blonde. Galinda had magicked a picture she had painted, and a two-dimensional Galinda was now chasing Elphaba around on the table.

"How typical," Elphaba muttered, "even on paper I'm being tortured."

"Aw, Elphie, they're just playing. Besides, I know you like it."

"You're delusional."

"So you don't enjoy our play time, then?"

Elphaba flushed a deep green and clamped her mouth shut.

"That's what I thought." Galinda giggled.

Elphaba sighed and looked over at her miniature self, who was standing on the rim of an empty mug. Paper Galinda climbed up and tackled them both inside. She snuggled up to Elphaba then, and promptly fell asleep.

"Aw... look at them. So sweet." Galinda whispered, shifting closer and putting her head on Elphaba's shoulder.

"Sweet..." Elphaba repeated, placing a gentle kiss on Galinda's temple.
