Edit (Or Eddie as she preferred to be called) Janko Reagan smiled as she walked in the door of the 12th Precinct with her new husband, Jamie Reagan. Eddie's smile got wider when she looked up to see that Jamie was smiling too. Jamie had been her best friend and partner for nearly 4 years when they began a whirlwind romantic relationship. They knew each other so well and were so close that they had only been officially dating a week when Jamie proposed, and they got married less than six months after that. It was love at first sight, although neither one of them would even admit it to themselves. After hiding their feelings for so many years, the newlywed couple was beyond excited to begin this new kind of partnership together.
This was their first day back at work after their honeymoon, so as they walked hand-in-hand back to the locker rooms, there were many cheers from newlywed's friends. People had been saying for years that the two of them should get together, and everyone had been thrilled when they had announced that Eddie was going to officially become Mrs. Jamieson Reagan. The couple was perfect for each other, and everyone knew it.
While they were allowed to stay at the same precinct, Jamie and Eddie had to get new partners when they started dating. While the two missed each other like crazy, neither one would change a thing about their relationship, and they were very thankful that they were occasionally able to see each other for little while at the precinct. To Jamie and Eddie, it was more than worth giving up their partnership at work for the new kind of relationship they had developed.
Even though Jamie and Eddie were both getting along with their partners, the excitement in their faces at the end of their shifts when the couple was reunited said it all and today wouldn't be any different. The couple gave each other one last quick smile and a kiss before they parted ways for the day. Grinning, Eddie walked into the women's locker room, excited to finally wear the last name of the person she loved most in the world on her name plate.
