Hi. This is a random drabble set that I just felt the need to make. I don't really know why.

Disclaimer: I don't own Sherlock

Drabble 1: Books

Books were simply too dull to put into Sherlock's life. When he was young, he would engulf himself in psychology and criminal justice kinds of books. He would be reading a book for only a few hours before he was picking up another. Now you couldn't get him to touch most books.

Fantasy was much too fanciful for his brilliance. Historical fiction was fine, if he had a case about someone who was already dead. Biographies would be useful if he ever had a case with a famous civilian, but that was hardly ever the case. Realistic fiction was always too boring; full of young girls and boys with their pitiful problems. Mysteries were a joke, the plot would be unraveled in the first few minutes. Horror books never seemed to scare Sherlock; they hardly got a reaction at all before he told John exactly why nothing in the book could ever happen. Non-fiction books were always filled with pictures, which both Sherlock and I would sneer at before putting it back or throwing it out the window, depending on who was holding it. I always had a policy against non-fiction, so Sherlock should know to never give me one to hold. I can't blame him though. Mother always said that I was the smart one.

When John came around, Sherlock became slightly more interested in books, but never really tried anything that didn't have crime and corpses. When Mary joined the picture, that's when he started to go back to the old ways. She had shoved piles of books on his doorstep, exclaiming that with all his "freetime" he should be able to read most of those. That was a challenge, and even Molly knew that Sherlock Holmes always rose to the challenge. He told me that he had enjoyed a few of them, even went as far as to recommend one to me. I can't possibly recall what it is called now, but I know that it was suppose to be very good, if not slightly mello. He said that someone as old as I am should be able to appreciate such books. I was too insulted by that remark to read the book.

But, for some odd reason, I was pleased with new arrangement John's wife and Sherlock made with each other. I just hoped it would last a little longer.

How was that? Not too dreadful I hope.
