A/N: This is an idea I am playing with and hope to continue, when the actual story begins it will cover Hawke's feelings about Fenris leaving her and her reaction to the news that she's pregnant. I watched that scene in the game and wondered what exactly would happen. I am open to any suggestions as to what you want to see and anything you think I should change. I hope you guys are as interested in this idea as I was.
"Your baby has the ears of an elf… that would be strange if both the parents were human…"
I looked down this was the moment I had not been waiting for. Isabela, Anders and Varric had been at the estate when the baby was born and the only ones to visit me since. Carver was going to try and visit at the earliest connivance of the Wardens and the others had not made it by yet with their own worries, I had not expected Fenris to arrive when he did. I wasn't prepared to explain why I had let him believe that Anders was the father of my little girl.
"Yes, it would seem that she does, Fenris… that is most likely because her father is not human…"
"Why would you let me believe that you and Anders… that you were carrying his child?"
"You were pretty quick to jump to that conclusion, we did share one amazing and unforgettable night together, and you just wanted to think that I would move on so quickly to Anders who doesn't really understand me. He can barely see past his hatred of the templars just as you cannot see past your hate of magic. How could I know that you wouldn't accuse me of using magic to ensure a child come of our union and bind you to me or some such nonsense…"
"But to deny me the knowledge of… my child…"
"You weren't ready for the two of us being together. Would you really be ready for the idea of another life depending on you? You are driven by your hatred of magic… of what I am and your need to get away from what Danarius did to you. You are not obligated to help me with little Bethany, but when you are ready… she will be here waiting to know her daddy…"
