He stood there, in a forbidden church he knew was long forgotten. Forgotten from the world, from the light, from her. Emerald eyes plagued his mind like a deathly illness, a blessing yet a curse. She had once been his light, as he her shadow. He slowly walked over to the wet bed of flowers, the only place where a celestial light beamed down onto the modern evil of Midgar. Here in the sectar 3 slums, once upon a time, his life had been changed forever.

Here he stood, in the midst of her memories. Closing his eyes, a breath was in took with a certain calmness as the past flooded his mind. He imagined the goddess with brown hair and warm green eyes, with her smile always directed at him. He remembered her voice, her smooth words like a melody meant to calm the anger of the world. Her touch, which could melt the ice off of any heart, the comfort she gave, the hope she brung, the light she had shed in his shadowed life.

As his life had been crumbling about him, he remembered thinking nothing was ever going to be alright again, the feeling that it was all over, and that the world had none but the evil, treacherous souls and beings existing already. But one day, he had fallen through the broke roof of the small sanctuary, and even as the pain subsided and he had once more looked into an emerald abyss, an unknown understanding had come over him, and somehow he had known that from that moment, it would be different.

Letting out a husky breath, mako blue eyes looked into the bright shine, almost blinding. Suddenly, light orbs started falling like snow from the suns light. He winced as he tried to keep his sight, a soft breeze blowing the shiny golden hair. He reached out, as if to grasp her being, pulling her from an empty oblivion beyond the life of the planet. He needed her with him, and he reached in to pull her back into his life, as if to restore the loved one lost. And he did.

The flowers rustled with the uneasy wind, as the pool of purified waters swirled in an un calm manner. His eyes widened, as he was graced with the presence of an angel. He remembered her touch as if it was like yesterday, a welcoming feeling spreading through his body. A forgotten peace washed over him, as a missed love was returned. Her bangles tapped each other, sounding like a melodic wind chime. Suddenly, he saw wings, he saw light, he saw the emerald.

A soft smile crossed sweet, petal like lips as long, heavy lashes covered beautiful eyes. He gasped softly, forgetting how beautiful she truly was. As soon as the light skin touched the ground, he grabbed her in a tight embrace, the tears finally falling. How long he had longed for this moment, he would never know. But somehow, he had been blessed, being allowed to once more hold his one and only. She smiled, hugging back. He pulled back, looking into her eyes. He brushed back some golden brown locks, smiling lightly upon her.

A gloved hand cupped the back of her head, pulling her in for a sweet, longing kiss. As his lips descended upon hers, Her arms wrapped around his neck. And in the midst of the night, They lay in the field where sunlight always shone through, as his husky voice reached her delicate ear. "I Love You, Aerith…."
