Sort of like a sequel. :) You ask, I deliver!
"Luke? Are you okay?" he felt a hand on his shoulder which made him jump in surprise before stiffening at the pain which was concentrated around his lower area. Son of a bitch! He cursed silently and who had caused that pain, not that he hated it. Sure it was difficult to sit down and he had the lamest excuse to why it took him ages to kneel down. "Mom! Yes I'm fine, why?" his mum raised an eyebrow at his pain expression. "Have you hurt your back?" he bit his lip before answering with his lame excuse. "Yeah. At the farm. Don't worry it'll be all better soon." He picked up his glass of water as Lily rubbed his back affectionately. "Why don't you go down to the hospital, you are due a check-up." At the word hospital and check-up Luke almost choked on his water. Hospital would be were Dr. Oliver would most likely be, and check-up... what happened if he was on rounds? What if Dr. Oliver was the doctor on call? It would be impossible for him to keep a straight face, keep to his lame excuse and stop himself from blushing. And if his mum was in the room with them both she would pick up on it, women always did.
"I am?" Lily crossed her arms in the defiant mother gesture, her head cocked to the side. "Yes, now get your coat on." I really hope he has surgery today!
Reid closed the door to his last patient of the night. Yet another whiny hypochondriac once again he had to listen to a very seemingly endless list of concerns, he stood his arms crossed, with a bored almost amused expression on his face. "Dr. Oliver, there's a walk- in. Could you take a look at him?" he checked his watch to see he had one more hour before the shift change, of course there was always one more. He accepted the chart from the Nurse before she left to continue with her rounds. With a passive expression on his face he flipped the chart over.
"Mom, you really don't have to stay I'll be fine." His mum had stubbornly decided to stay put until she knew who was on call, Luke already knew. His body screamed at him, liquid heat filled his stomach and his blood went south automatically before the door handle even moved. He swallowed as his heart pounded painful in his chest, Dr. Oliver walked in looking his usual, passive and bored expression which he had grown so accustomed too. "Mr. Snyder, did you hurt yourself in your tennis match?"
His words were pure classic Dr. Oliver snark but the look in eyes made Luke's stomach drop. "I see your bed side manners haven't improved since we last met."
He felt Lily's hand protectively on his shoulder; he looked up at his mum who had a stone expression on her face. "Mom, you can go I'll ring you later."
As soon as the door closed, Dr. Oliver moved forward while looking at the chart. "According to this, you need a check-up?" Luke made a small sound of conformation while his face heated up. "You had a kidney transplant a few years ago. Correct?" again another small sound answered the question. "And you hurt your back?" Dr. Oliver put the chart down and crossed his arms, a small smirk on his mouth which made Luke lick his lips compulsively at their endless dryness.
Luke tried to stay calm as Dr. Oliver slowly starting poking and prodding Luke's back, asking where it was uncomfortable and tender. He was so aware and he knew full well where Luke was aching since he was the reason for it.
More soon... *dirty mind in full drive*
