FUTURE

Shane Gray sat on the couch, listening to his band mates talk to each other about their perfect girlfriends. Sometimes he felt as if there was no one out there for him and there never would be.

I wish I could see my future, he thought as he walked out of the room, heading towards the stage area.

His eyebrows rose in confusion as he walked into the auditorium and saw a small family, two adults and two children, sitting and laughing on the stage.

He gasped as he got closer and recognized an older version of himself.

"You were awesome, Daddy!" The small little boy said, sitting on the woman's lap. "I wanna be just like you someday."

His older self chuckled. "We'll see, buddy. I think your mother wants you to go to college."

The woman looked up from the little girl next to her and he gasped again. She was absolutely beautiful. Her black hair glistened under the stage lights.

"Daddy is right, Greyson. Maybe you can be the first scientist to be a touring guitarist!"

The little boy, Greyson, giggled. "Okay, Mommy." He got up and ran over to the guitars.

Shane's eyes widened as he saw his older self look into the woman's eyes and kiss her gently. "I love you, Mitchie Torres."

"I love you too, popstar."

The older Shane gasped and stood up, grabbing the little girl in his arms. "Mrs. Gray, I am deeply offended!"

Mitchie stood up, a playful grin on her face. "Are you?"

"Indefinitely." He placed the little girl down, who squealed and ran over to her brother.

"Well, I guess you'll have to get me back."

As he stepped in front of her, his nose touching hers, he said huskily, "Indeed."

They kissed passionately, and Shane smiled as he watched himself twirl Mitchie.

He started walking away and when he turned back around, they were gone.

Maybe his future was going to be good after all.

Later that day, Shane was smiling a true smile as he signed items for fans at the meet and greet.

"Hi!"

His eyes widened as he recognized the shiny lead-like black hair. "H-hey. What is your name?"

"Mitchie. Mitchie Torres." She smiled and handed him a Connect Three logo to be signed.

When he handed it back to her, she looked at it and she gasped.

Mitchie,

Be mine? 554-798

Shane Gray

"But…I…I just met you?"

Shane sighed. "What if I told you I've seen the future?"

Her eyebrow raised in confusion.

"You're my future."

She smiled at his compliment and cocked her head to one side, saying the word that completed his life.

"Yes."
