Hey there. New story, hope you like it :) Co-Written by BabyCthulu of DeviantArt. I own nothing (unfortunately) except for the new companion.
The Doctor stumbled slightly as he tripped over the entrance to the TARDIS, a gentle hum emitting from the main control panel as he did so. Lights flashed everywhere and she made it clear that she knew what was about to happen. Regeneration was always sad for her. Losing one persona and gaining another. She'd grown particularly attached to this one; he had an energy about him, a fire that burned so brightly. He threw his coat over one of the pillars that surrounded the console, a saddened look across his features. The TARDIS hummed in a sad tone. She hated seeing him like this. He looked like he could cry but he didn't, he couldn't. He stopped just before the console, the TARDIS hummed and purred to try to calm him. But he was afraid, that was clear. A whisper of gold began to surround him.
"I don't wanna go," he whimpered, and the TARDIS hummed in fear. He didn't wanna go; the TARDIS couldn't lose this... her Doctor. This would be her gift to him. She would save him, absorb some of his energy. He wouldn't go. The Doctor would stay. It needed release. He could feel it coming, creeping through his skin. Suddenly, he swung his head back and a bright flash of gold light engulfed him. The regeneration took hold and his cells began to mend and change. Before he could yell out in pain, protest- the strangest thing happened. The heart of the TARDIS opened. It opened and began to absorb some of the regeneration energy. The Doctor's mind, amongst all the pain, vaguely wondered what she was doing. He then collapsed, the last of the energy evaporating away. Looking up at the console, he saw the hatch that contained her snap shut.
"What?" he blinked. Had she done what he thought she had just done? He was well aware that she was alive... he just never realised how alive. But what would the consequences of this be? He wouldn't have long to find out, though. He'd only just realised- they were crashing.
