Tonks had only just arrived at the Order Head Quarters when Sirius walked into the kitchen and slumped into one of the seats there. He looked up at her and suddenly frowned as he noticed that she seemed to have rather dull coloured hair for once. She had recently realised she was madly in love with Sirius' best friend, Remus, yet she had no idea how to tell him about it.
"What's wrong Tonks?" he asked as he brought his feet up off the floor and placed them on the table.
Tonks sat down in a chair diagonally to the right of Sirius and shrugged a little, "I guess I just feel sort of lonely, Sirius," she replied. "I've not had a relationship with anyone for far too long," she added.
"How the hell do you think I feel?" he retorted, having been unable to have any real relationship with anyone since being in Azkaban.
"You have Emmeline now," she answered, rolling her eyes at him. "The last guy I went out with was more interested in his hair," she sighed loudly.
"So? She doesnt want anything more than the occassional hug at the moment," he frowned, "So who have you got your eye on this time then?" he asked her with a grin. He could tell she was in love with someone as she had a certain look in her eye.
"You don't want to know," she replied as she wasn't sure how he would take it. Remus was his best friend after all, not just some random guy he happened to know from somewhere.
"Tell me!" Sirius demanded, his feet coming off the table and he leaned forwards eagerly, wanting to either annoy her constantly about it or help her get with him depending on who this man was.
"No!" she replied strongly, glaring at him. "I know what you're like, Sirius. You'd either hate me for it, make fun of me over it or tell him and make the friendship strained," she added.
"I won't do anything about who you're in love with!" he said, "Please tell me?" he pleaded, his hands moving to a begging position.
"Remus Lupin," she replied with another sigh. "Happy now?" she asked.
Sirius simply sat there looking rather stunned. She was in love with his best friend. That was going to take some getting used to, especially if they ended up in a relationship together. "Okay," he eventually said with a nod.
"Tell him and you die though, got it?" she asked, glaring at him again.
"Why don't you tell him?" Sirius asked, know coming out of his state of shock to some extent.
"He wouldn't be interested in me. The whole age thing would probably get to him," she sighed. He was just the sort of guy to worry about that kind of thing after all.
"I wouldnt be so sure," he replied and at that point the front door opened. Tonks glared at Sirius, warning him to keep quiet which he agreed to do and Remus walked into the kitchen a few seconds later.
"Remus!" Sirius exclaimed, grinning at him.
"Erm... Hi Sirius," Remus said, shooting them both a worried look. "Am I missing something here?" he asked sounding really rather confused.
"No, nothing," Tonks said quickly, glaring at Sirius once more. "Anyway, I'd better go. I have to get to work before Kingsley kills me for being late again," she said as she stood up and hurriedly left before she had to suffer the abuse Sirius was bound to throw at her at some point.
