The Corner Of Your Heart

Ronan has traced the orb to the Collector's home. Amidst an extravagant collection, there is something else that belongs to Taneleer which has captured Ronan's eye. He's not about to leave without everything he desires. Taneleer TivanxOCxRonan oneshot OOC Taneleer Tivan

"Just tell me where he is." Ronan growled out through clenched teeth.

I shook my head. "No! My master will not negotiate with Kree fanatics!"

Korath held me securely while Ronan approached me. "Tell me where the orb is, my dear or I'll take it and kill your master."

I remained silent.

"You have such a lovely face." Ronan sighed, leaning over me to caress my cheek.

I could feel his hot breath against my ear.

"It would be a shame to ruin it..."

"What's going on here?!" An all too familiar voice assailed my ears. "What are you doing in my home?"

Everyone turned to see Taneleer Tivan standing at the entrance to his home.

Ronan shot him a glare. "I don't believe your assistant knew who we were...if that's possible."

"Get out immediately before I'm forced to kill everyone of you." Taneleer threatened.

Ronan glowered at him. "If you do not give me the orb now, you will answer to Thanos."

The Collector sighed. "Very well. Free the girl, and the orb is yours."

Ronan smirked, eyeing my body. "I would very much like to keep her, as well as the orb."

Taneleer led Ronan, Korath, Nebula and me to the vault where he kept the orb. He unlocked it with an old fashioned key.

Upon Taneleer opening the vault, Ronan's eyes lit up enthusiastically. There, nestled in the very back was a silver ball with intricate designs. "It is merely a holder for the orb." Taneleer explained. "The stone rests within it."

Ronan pushed past Taneleer to snatch the orb out of the vault. "Gamora was a fool to trust you with this. Now I will destroy Xandar and kill Thanos. But first it's your turn." He raised his Universal Weapon to strike Taneleer.

"No!" I screamed.

Ronan looked at me, confused.

"If you let him live, I will come with you, willingly." I promised.

Ronan glanced from me to Taneleer, then sighed loudly. "Only if you keep your word, my dear. I will return myself to execute him if you betray me."

I nodded and gazed up at Taneleer. "I'm sorry. Just know, I love you and I will return to you. You never treated me as an assistant. You treated me as so much more."

I pressed my lips to his and we kissed intensely before we were pulled apart by Korath.

I was taken away to board the Dark Aster as Ronan's personal slave. I would honor my promise to Ronan but I would also keep my promise to Taneleer...locked away in the corner of my heart.

The Collector had never known I secretly loved him...until now.
