Another Alistair/Bethany since I really like this pairing and feel that my previous attempt at it was awful.
Also, sorry to all who follow me or were expecting new chapters of "A new enemy" or "Before", but I have a big exam this week and am not really inspired right now. Sorry.
So here's some plotless, short, fluff with one of my favorite pairings.
As a ray on sunlight hit his face, Alistair mumbled and turned, turning and trying to wrap his arm around her. Except that her side of the bed was empty. Surprised, he slowly woke up and looked around to find sitting on the edge of the bed, putting her boots back on.
"Good morning." he mumbled.
"Hello, my king." she answered.
"Why are you awake so... what time is it?"
"An hour or so past sunrise. And Bann Alfstanna wants to see me about her brother."
"And you can't stay a little longer?"
"I stayed all night to 'provide insight into magical matters' to the king. You really want people to know, don't you?"
"Like everyone doesn't know already." he scoffed, "Come on, Beth, stay here a bit longer."
"I'd love to, but I can't, sorry." she leaned, kissing his forehead, "Besides, don't you think the Queen might disapproves that I spent so much time with you?"
They both smiled, as they both knew that she didn't mind that much.
But still, they both had their duties to attend to.
With a sight and a promise to come back for more 'insights' the evening, Bethany left the room while Alistair searched his clothes.
It was going to be a long day.
