A/N: Merry Christmas everyone! Here's my Christmas gift to all of you: the third oneshot of my Sweet Solitude series, though of course, it can be read on its own. Part of the Build-A-Bear challenge. Prompt: Gingerbread scent.
Gingerbread Cookies and Mistletoe
The first thing that woke Harry up on Christmas day was the sound of an owl hooting. Harry's eyes flickered open and rested upon the tawny owl that had made itself quite comfortable on his desk.
Harry smiled at it, and carefully took the letter from its outstretched claws, carefully opening the envelope and reading the letter.
Dear Harry,
Meet me in the kitchen at ten AM sharp. Don't worry. The house elves already know you're coming.
Love,
Draco
Harry looked over at the clock on the wall, and his eyes widened. It was already nine fifty! He hurried out of bed and pretty much threw on the first shirt and pair of jeans he came across, before trying, and failing, to pin his messy hair down as he hurried out of the common room.
By the time he'd made his way into the Hogwarts kitchens, Draco was already there, a plate of gingerbread cookies in his hands.
"Merry Christmas Harry!" He smiled as Harry practically dashed toward him.
"Merry Christmas," Harry smiled, placing a soft kiss on Draco's cheek.
"I made you gingerbread cookies..okay, well technically the elves made them, but-"
"I love it Dray," Harry assured him, taking a cookie and munching on it. "Mmm. I love them."
"I'm glad. Oh, also, we're standing under mistletoe so you have to kiss me," Draco smirked mischievously.
Harry looked up and blushed. "I didn't see that there," he mumbled shyly.
Draco chuckled softly, and placed the cookies down on the counter before wrapping his arms around Harry and pulling him in for a loving kiss.
"Best Christmas present ever," he said when the two finally pulled away for air.
"Love you Dray," Harry smiled, leaning into Draco and snuggling him.
"Love you too Harry," Draco smiled, mentally adding a new personal goal to his list: make gingerbread cookies and kiss Harry under the mistletoe every Christmas.
