"I think you know me."
Beck hops up on stage, that annoying, nonchalant grin ever present on his stupid, perfect face. You watch on, glad that your best friend and frenemy are getting back together.
What a big lie.
You're actually very upset. Disappointed is a better word for it. Didn't she point at you? You could've sworn she pointed at you! But, no. There's Beck, walking up on stage like he didn't just win the girl of your dreams.
"I've missed you." You hear him say, making your nose wrinkle. Is that all he's going to say? Now if that were you…
"That's nice. Now get off the stage." Jade deadpans, looking Beck up and down. What? Is she pushing him away or is she going to take him somewhere private and … no, you don't want to even think about that.
He leans in for a kiss but she shoves him away, glaring. "Don't touch me." He blinks a few times, obviously not expecting rejection, before composing him self.
"Come on, I just want to give you a kiss." Beck says, thinking this is just Jade being Jade. You can see that she's definitely not playing around and she looks like she's about to snap.
"And I just want you to get hit by a bus, but we can't always get what we want, can we?" Jade retorts, moving away from him. His face falls and he follows her, grabbing her arm.
"Jade —"
"Don't touch me!" She shouts again, pushing him. "Who the hell do you think you are?"
A new look of confusion surfaces on Beck's face and he doesn't try to approach her again. "The song wasn't for me?"
Jade let's out a dry laugh, shaking her head. "You thought it was for you? Wow, you really are full of yourself."
"But you … pointed at me…"
"Not you, pretty boy. Definitely not you."
The crowd was watching the whole exchange curiously, everyone turning around to look in the direction in which Jade pointed. You look around as well, trying to see who else she could have pointed at. It takes you a moment to realize all eyes are on you. There's no one else in your general area, and the only person who was close to you was Beck…
"Tori?!" Beck asks, an incredulous look on his face. "You were pointing at Tori?"
Jade smirks a little, crossing her arms over her chest as she looks directly at you. You can feel all the stares and your cheeks start to burn, not expecting any of this. So your assumptions were right? She really did point at you?
"Well, Vega?"
You look up at the stage, locking eyes with Jade. The crowd erupts in a chorus of, "Go on stage!" and you feel your feet carrying you to do exactly that. You stand in front of Jade now, a shy smile on your face.
"Me?" You ask in a quiet voice, making sure there's no other Vegas she was talking to. Her head moves in a little nod, aquamarine eyes twinkling.
You stare at each other for a moment, the silent question flashing in her eyes. Jade West sang to you. Jade West likes you. You don't move your eyes from hers, making you sure you get your message across: Yes!
"Kiss already!" Andre's grandmother shouts, other people following her example. Soon enough, the whole Cafe is full of yells and demands, everybody egging you on.
Jade gets a devious grin on her face, pulling you by the collar of your shirt until your lips are pressed firmly against each other's. There's applause now, everyone standing on their feet and cheering for you both. When you break away for air, you smile at her.
"I knew you didn't hate me." You whisper, eyes searching her face. She laughs a little, pulling you back for more.
